Western Harbor Lighthouse

Published: 29 Jun 2018

Western harbor light house located near to Leith in Edinburgh is an abandoned and disused light house close to the docks at Leith

The light house is fairly small with very very few original features remaining. There is a 2 stroke engine that was once used to drive the compressor that would have been used to operate the lighthouse horn. This engine may also have acted as a generator, but it is difficult to tell because sections of the assembly have been removed.

The light house has not been used or occupied in decades and has been subject to damage and vandalism.
