Very often when looking for locations to explore we use Googe earth. It can sometimes be interesting to look at areas on the outskirts of towns or follow waterways to look for evidence of past buildings or industrial locations. When we find something of interest, we generally use the brilliant side by side maps provided by the National Library of Scotland. This very often gives us information on what a building once was.
In this instance, we found what looked like building remains. We took a look at the old maps and discovered it was a small farm building. It was part of a farm called Heathfield. We decided to visit the area and document what was left.
The buildings are all in ruinous condition. but it is still interesting to have a look around.
