Govan Graving Docks – Glasgow

This is a short video showing an area of shipbuilding and docklands in Glasgow. Shipbuilding was one of the key industries along the River Clyde.

Shipbuilding has all but left the upper Clyde, and all that is left are the ruins of a once-booming industry. The dry docks at this location were some of the largest and deepest in the country, meaning they could be used for the construction, repair and maintenance of even the largest ships of its time.

The location has been subjected to vandalism and fire-raising. The dry docks are in fair condition, but the buildings have not been so fortunate.
