Hartwood Hospital was a 19th-century hospital in Scotland that provided mental health treatment. It closed as a hospital in 1988
For a short time, it served as a TV studio for LTV (Lanarkshire Television) until this company closed in 2002. The site has been abandoned ever since and has been the scene of fire-raising, vandalize and graffiti.
The site is now in the process of being developed as housing and only a few of the original buildings will be retained.
The towers will be saved and form a feature of the new housing development.
