St Blane’s church, located on the Isle of Bute in Scotland, was used during two distinct periods. It was originally a monastery, and later converted to a church. The current ruins are of the more recent church building.

The site is enclosed by a dry stone retaining wall that was built to separate the spiritual world from the secular world that lies outwith the church grounds. There is also a graveyard containing some fairly old burials. The flat-slabbed grave markers likely denote the burial site of early Christians.

There is also a smaller ruin that was a manse for the church. Only the foundation blocks remain. The massonery was probably used during the centuries for changes or repairs to the main church buildings.

The site is presently managed by The National Trust for Scotland, and it is preserved in its current state for people to visit and enjoy. The grounds are well-maintained, and access involves only a short walk up a well-beaten track.
